About FitParents

FitParents – Stay fit, feel great!

FitParents is the fitness programme dedicated to parents and parents-to-be, from any pregnancy stage to mothers who have given birth at least six weeks before, to new mamas who are looking to get back in shape while meeting other mamas, and to dads who want to exercise while bonding with their baby! Classes give them the opportunity to stay fit while enjoying the company of their children. The programme is based on specific tonification and stretching exercises using a pushchair or baby carrier, which play an active role during the class.

FitParents focuses on muscle tonification, covering all muscle groups, and psycho-physical well-being of the moms during the pre and postnatal delicate periods. FitParents specifically focuses on the healthy progressive recovery of the abdominal and pelvic muscles of the new mamas.

FitParents is energy and attention to your baby, your body, yourself. It is the excuse to keep fit while giving children the best example.

Staying fit no longer means that new moms have to separate from their baby. On the contrary: parents and children get to enjoy one hour together, a practical combination of exercise and pleasure!

Our philosophy – A serene parent is a better parent!

A baby needs constant care and attention. Add to this feedings every 3 hours, diaper changes, household chores, visits by curious relatives and friends… How great would it be to enjoy this new life if she weren’t so tired! Factor in the hormonal reorganisation, and you have a mum in freefall.

Some new mothers are chronically tired, others look for support to their mum or friends, but sometimes it seems that this is not enough. The new mum ends her day exhausted, while losing contact with the external world. What she used to do before is not what she does now.

What about Dads? Fatherhood is life-changing too!
After a full day at work it is not so easy to go back home and deal with the exhausted new mom and the new baby…

“The social life, friends, evenings – everything changes, at least for a while… In this situation what could be better than going out and training with our baby and other new parents?

This is what parents and children can enjoy at the FitParents classes:

  • Socialization and conviviality – time with other parents with similar experiences
  • Fitness programme tailored to the delicate periods of pregnancy and after birth
  • Mums or dads are able to dedicate an hour to their own well-being without diminishing care for their baby. There is no need for a babysitter!
  • A healthy and social way to lose the pregnancy weight
  • The bond between parents and children is reinforced
  • New mothers need to get out, meet other mums and talk about their experiences, joys and worries. The same is true for dads!
  • Joining the FitParents fitness programme helps preventing low spirits and loneliness, as well as postnatal depression
  • Parents are the behavioural model for their children; FitParents is a joyful way to teach our kids the love for sport!

Our Mission

We believe in parenthood as the enriching state towards thrilled families. With our fitness classes and events we love supporting and empowering mothers and fathers, during this special transformative period of their life.

Our aim is to offer a pre- and post-natal programme for the mum-to-be or the new mum enabling her to take care of herself and support mums-to-be and new mothers with the associated physical inconveniences: back and hips pain, loose abdomen, urinary incontinence.

We open up the fitness world to mums who are eager to get rid of these extra kilos and to wear again the jeans from before pregnancy and to dads, who love the idea of reconnecting with their body while fulfilling the overwhelming role of being parent.

That is why we have created this special fitness programme, which aims to tone the ‘usual’ muscles and also includes specific exercises to allow mums to progressively get back in shape in a safe way.

FitParents coaches are specifically trained for fitness for pregnant women and new mums, whose bodies are going through big changes. Therefore, they help you to exercise without risk of serious injury to your body.
